Clinical Integration:

The clinical integration committee oversees the process which allows physicians and hospitals to evaluate and analyze their collected patient data, allowing participants to create a high degree of interdependence and cooperation in order to improve quality and efficiency.  The committee will establish HIPAA-compliant policies and procedures for aggregating data from independent practices and VUMC, including restricted access to data and distribution of reports to all participating practices.

Credentialing:

The credentialing committee, in compliance with NCQA guidelines, ensures a thorough background check for all physicians joining the IPA. The IPA has delegated credentialing agreements with all managed care organizations under contract with the IPA. This process of credentialing each physician eliminates duplicate efforts required by managed care organizations for each individual contract.
